This weekend, I went to the flea market and found a Happy Family Grandma doll for $1. She was nude and in good condition. I cleaned her up and dressed her.
I chose to add her to my collection because she is different than most of my other dolls. She is more mature, and she is not as skinny. She will have fun here hanging out with my other more mature dolls, especially my AA Happy Family Grandma.
Congrats! She's a nice addition.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vanessa!
DeleteShe looks great and happy to have been rescued. You can't beat that price!

Thanks Debbie! She was worth the effort of digging through boxes of dirty dolls.
DeleteCongrats on scoring her for such a great price. She looks happy to have a new home with you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Roville! She has been welcomed here with open arms.
DeleteGreat price! The grandparents are very sought after, so your price was a steal of a deal. I wish they made more clothes for them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Georgia Girl! I remembered seeing the grandparents going for higher prices on eBay, so that's another reason why I picked this one up.
DeleteI actually have this doll still in her box. Seeing yours looking so happy makes me think I should let her out. She was the only version of Grandma who was released here in Australia.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrickters! I have the AA versions of Alan, Midge, Ryan, infant Nikki, and the grandparents, all out of the box. I have enjoyed them, but seeing the prices that they are now going for on eBay kind of makes me wish that I had left them in their boxes!
DeleteHello from Spain: beautiful pictures. I'm looking forward to buying this grandmother. In my country is not for sale. How lucky you bought it cheap price. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marta. Good luck on finding one!
DeleteHi there Roxanne,
ReplyDeleteI love those grandparent dollies. Could it be because they are grandmommies and such? LOL
So, um, is granny going to get her swerve on with the AA grandpa? LOL
LOL grandmommy! She would have to go through AA grandma first, and I don't see that happening. However, she's been kind of eyeballing Bill Clinton (but Bill has been eyeballing the younger dolls). Who knows what might happen in this crazy dollie world. :)
DeleteYay, Roxanne! Congrats on that great find. I would never have thought she was from a flea market. Love her gray-silver hair.
ReplyDeleteThank you, D7ana!
