Babysitters Inc Skipper Rebody

I purchased a Skipper Babysitters Inc doll a few months ago. I wasn't in any hurry to remove her from her packaging.

That changed when I saw this Blythe Black Skin Tone body. I purchased this doll hoping that I would have dolls in my collection that would match. Skipper is a close enough match. I wasted no time removing Skipper from her packaging and rebodying her.

Some time ago, I did a review of the Blythe body. This is the same body, but Skipper's is a darker skin tone.

 Her is a closer look at Skipper. She has a cute youthful face, and I like her curly hair.

 The Blythe body is shorter than the original Skipper body. But Skipper is thrilled with her newfound mobility.

Skipper's original outfit fits well. However, the Blythe body's feet are slightly larger.

Skipper's boots will just barely go onto the Blythe body's feet.

From the back, you can see that Skipper's boots do not close completely. I'm not too concerned about that. Skipper can stand on her own in these boots.

Skipper needed this added articulation in order to perform her babysitting duties to the best of her abilities. There are a lot of babies and toddlers here, so she will be busy. Below, she is pictured with her friend Barbie Crazy for Coral Petite Fashionistas doll, which has also been rebodied on a Blythe body. Skipper just will not put down her phone, just like some other teens that I know.

Here are the Blythe Bodied dolls compared to some of the other teen and tween dolls in my collection.

Here, my new Skipper is pictured with my original Skipper (Homecoming Queen). My original Skipper is demanding that I change the name of this new Skipper. Hmmmmm, I'll have to ponder that one.

Skipper's box had a few other items besides the doll and her phone. There were cardboard cutouts of a To Do List, a delicious looking drink, and a toy xylophone. There was also a plastic sippy cup. 

This Skipper is cute, and I like her even more with her articulated body. Ideally, I would have liked for her to be the same height as the original Skipper. Perhaps Mattel will release some articulated Skippers in the future (wishful thinking on my part, but I am hopeful). I like Skipper's outfit and her boots, and I like her phone and the sippy cup. I don't care about the cardboard cutouts. Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase.

Sheva Alomar Head Swaps and More

I recently purchased the Crazy Toys Sheva Alomar figure.

I had been seeing this figure on ebay and other sites being sold for $40+ dollars, but that was more money than I wanted to pay for this Hot Toys Sheva Alomar look-alike. But I kept watching, because I wanted to see if the Crazy Toys figure had anything that I could use with my hybrid Sheva Alomar (Hot Toys head on a Triad Alpha body). I was especially hoping that I could use the Crazy Toys Sheva Alomar blouse with my figure.

I saw the Crazy Toys figure being sold on ebay for $9.95 plus shipping and I did not hesitate to purchase it.

Here she is out of the box. She comes with a spare set of gloved hands, a radio with earpiece, and a stand.

Another reason for me purchasing this figure is that I wanted to see if I could use the Crazy Toys head on my recently purchased Tianyimei action figure body, and I can. The head is not a perfect fit and it is not a perfect skin tone match, but close enough (especially since I have no other head options for the Tianyimei body).

I was thrilled that I was able to get the Sheva Alomar blouse off of the Crazy Toys body and onto my hybrid Hot Toys/Triad Sheva! 

Here are my two head swapped Shevas together. The Tianyimei body is shorter and slimmer than the Triad body. The Crazy Toys head is smaller than the Hot Toys head. I've decided that these two will be sisters here in my collection. So I need to come up with a name for little Sheva (other than Little Sheva). How about Sheena?

Here's a closer look at the pair. Of course, the Hot Toys head is much better in quality than the Crazy Toys head. I would consider repainting the Crazy Toys head one of these days, if I can get my painting skills up to par. I'll probably at least line her eyes and paint her eyebrows and lips (eventually).

Awwwww, sisterly affection!

I dressed Sheena in a Barbie shirt. She has a long neck with the Tianyimei body, and I also wanted her to be able to show of her rubbery torso. The pants are from Integrity Toys Janay, and the shoes belong to Only Hearts Club Briana Joy. Sheva is enjoying her new radio and earpiece while wearing the Crazy Toys Sheva Alomar blouse, a pair of tan Ken pants, and some Triad heels.

What will become of the Crazy Toys body? I don't know. I have a few Liv doll heads, or I'll pick something else from my Bin of Forgotten Heads. I'll stand the knife-wielding Crazy Toys body with sweet doll head somewhere in the back once I finally get all of my dolls displayed.

Overall, I'm thrilled with this purchase. No, the Crazy Toys figure is not high quality, but look at this. My Sheva Alomar finally has her blouse! And my Tianyimei body now has a head! All for one low price. Now that's what I call money well spent.

Disney Descendants Audrey Swap

Last year I purchased a Disney Descendants Audrey doll.

Quoted from her box:

"Daughter of Sleeping Beauty. Waking her inner beauty."

She caught my eye because of her articulation, so she didn't spend much time in her box. Here is a closeup. She is a cute doll, though her head is large.

She poses fairly well. She has articulation at her elbows, knees, and wrists.

Here she is posing with some of her new friends. Uh-oh, I see the way that Raven is looking at her. I know that look.

And here she is posing with new friends that also have large heads.

But ultimately, she lost her head, and became my first head swap of this year (back in January).

Raven got her body, which is more appropriate for her, since she represents a teen in my collection. The body is a little lighter than Raven's head, but it's close enough for me. It bothers me only a little bit.

The new Raven fits right in with other teen dolls in my collection.

She can share clothes with many of the dolls here, and she can wear Bratzillaz Sashabella Paws' boots. Her shoes are too large for Sashabella.

I think that she looks better in tops that cover her neck, so that the skin tone difference between her head and body are not as readily apparent.

Raven is just as popular as ever with the teen boys in my collection.

So in conclusion, I like Audrey, but I like Raven on Audrey's body much better.

Small Scale Articulation

I purchased an articulated Blythe doll body (the dark skin version).

My apologies to all of you Blythe lovers out there, but I do not know much about Blythe. I think that Takara manufactures this body, but I'm not sure. There are no markings on the body. I tried to do some research to find out more, but I got bored and my eyes started to glaze over after just a little while.  I don't know if this is an Azone or Pure Neemo or what, I just know that I wanted this articulated body. I don't want the huge Blythe head. Another one of my dolls will use this body. 

When removing this doll from the box, I was very glad to see that the skin tone is pretty much exactly what I expected from the photos on the advertisements. I was especially pleased after recent purchases where the figure that I received was not as dark as advertised.

I was also glad to see that the dark skin tone would match several of the dolls in my collection. The body feels very sturdy and is heavier than other dolls this size. She is a little bit taller than Juku Couture dolls, and about the same height as Wee Three Friends dolls.

Because of the immobility of the neck connector, any head that I put on this body will be able to move side to side, but not up and down. She has good mobility in her arms and shoulders. Her range of motion is somewhat limited at the elbows. Her upper arms swivel. Her hands rotate. There are several sets of hands that can be purchased for this doll, but I'm not interested in the various hand gestures. It would be nice to have a relaxed set of hands, though.

Her waist twists from side to side. Her legs will part slightly. Her legs rotate at the upper thigh. The range of motion at her knees is somewhat limited. Because of her ankle articulation, she can wear flat shoes, or shoes with a slight heel. She can kneel. She can also sit flat on the floor. She looks good posing in a seated position, and she can cross her lower legs.

This doll is small in stature, so I definitely wanted to give her a head with a youthful appearance. I have an extra Juku Couture Kana head, but the head has a tiny hole for the neck connector and would not fit without permanent modification. The neck connector for the Blythe body is Barbie sized.

The closest skin tone match to the Blythe body is probably my tan Momoko doll.  Momoko already has an articulated body and she's adorable on that body, so I was not about to rebody her. If I'm ever in possession of another tan Momoko head though, I'll probably put that head on this body.

I purchased this body hoping that it would be a good match for my Barbie Crazy for Coral Petite Fashionistas doll. My petite doll was not thrilled about that idea. She wasn't sure if she wanted to give up what height she does have in favor of articulation.

She's a decent skin tone match. My petite doll started to warm up to the idea.

It's a done deal. My petite doll is now more petite than ever! Her head looks slightly oversized on this body, though.

But she is thrilled with her ability to strike different poses!

Even though she is now the same height as the tweens and young teens in my collection, she is quick to remind them that she is actually a little older than they are.

She still likes hanging out with her old friends.

 The teen guys all still think she's cute.

My overall impression is that this is a good quality doll at a reasonable price. The joints are not very attractive, though. It's particularly noticeable and not aesthetically pleasing to me when I rotate her arms or legs, and the parts above and below the point of articulation do not appear to line up properly. I will find this doll something to wear that covers her body more.

I am very happy with this purchase, and look forward to posing her for many years to come.
