Color Infusion Janay

I had been pretty much ignoring the female dolls from Integrity Toys for a while.  With the arrival of this Color Infusion Janay doll, now I'm paying attention again.  I love some of the changes that have been made from my older Integrity Toys/Fashion Royalty ladies.  Goodbye sharp little claw-like hands!  Goodbye pointy little Barbie feet!  Hello to a more realistic body, with more realistic hands and feet.

My only issue is that I have fewer shoe choices for Janay.  I found a few pairs that would fit her.  The shoes below are from Jakks Pacific Lola.  She can put them on, but she can not stand in them.  I need for her to be able to stand.

Her feet are similar in size and shape to Monster High dolls (the size of Clawdeen Wolf).  The shoes below are from an Operetta fashion pack.  She can stand in these shoes, but she hates them.  I don't blame her - they have dice for heels and a spiderweb design.  Below, Janay models the Monster High shoes and a Sparkle Girlz outfit.

Below, she is wearing another Sparkle Girlz outfit and a random pair of boots.  They may be Barbie boots.  They don't really fit, but she can stand in them.

In the photos below, she is wear Sparkle Girlz clothes and Sashabella Paws'  boots.  She can stand in these boots, but she hates them.

She has decided to go with the lesser of the 4 evils and she will wear the Sashabella boots until I get her shoe situation sorted out (which may be a little while).  She is wearing a Milan Barbie fashion below.

Besides shoes, she has certain other demands.  She demands new clothing, lingerie, and above all she demands that I release Remi from his cardboard prison.

My overall impression of Janay is that this is a beautiful doll!  She does not have the articulation of the action figures that I like, but she makes up for that in beauty.  She is tall - even taller than most of my male dolls, but that doesn't bother me.  I wish that she could stand without shoes and without assistance.  I don't necessarily want Integrity Toys to give their dolls hideous ankle joints or joints in the feet, I'm just saying it would be nice if she could have flat or heeled feet.  I don't know how to achieve that in an attractive way, but it would be nice.  They've done a good job at combining aesthetics with functionality with other features, so I'll leave the feet issue in their capable hands.  In the meantime, I'm glad that she can stand in certain shoes.

***I just read a post from someone, saying that the newer Integrity Toys dolls being released have modular limbs, and that IT should have the option of having lower legs for different heel heights.  Sounds like a good idea to me!***

  1. She is beautiful! If she fits in Monster high shoes, she might also fit in Stardoll and Disney VIP shoes? Maybe even some of the high-healed Liv shoes?

    1. Thank you Phillis! I don't have any Stardoll shoes, but she does not fit Disney VIP or LIV shoes.

  2. Great post. You've gotta love the versatility of the Sparkle Girlz fashions. I hope you find some shoes for her that will allow her to stand on her own. You might have to break down like I did a buy one of her shoe packs from IT. I am considering purchasing the other one, but I think I will wait until after their convention in October, hoping they will reduce the price on last year's stuff.

TGM suggested LIV shoes -- Janay cannot wear those. She cannot wear VIP China's boots.

Also, not all IT female fashion dolls have feet and hands like Janay's. Unlike Mattel/Barbie, their different lines have completely different bodies, hands, and feet, which makes it difficult for their dolls to share shoes and sometimes clothing. I do like Janay's hands better than the Dynamite Girls and others that have those "claw" hands you described.

I am now on a campaign to see Remi free. Free Remi! Free Remi! Free Remi!

    1. Thanks Debbie! I'm still loving the Sparkle Girlz fashions, and I finally found some of the single fashions at a different Walmart. I'm thinking that I will have to break down and buy one of the IT shoe packs. Or Janay may have to deal with plastic-looking Monster High shoes, if I can find some without spiderwebs and other undesirable designs. I do not like the claw hands. They have ripped more than one fashion here.

Remi will be set free one of these days. :)

  3. Hello from Spain: I do not have in my collection Integrity Toys. I really like your doll. I also like this photo shoot fashion. Very trendy. Keep in touch

  4. She's a gorgeous doll!

I wouldn't have guessed that the MH shoes would work - that's good to know.

    1. Thanks jSarie! The Operetta shoes worked, but Janay can't wear Clawdeen Wolf's boots.

  5. She is a pretty doll and I was tempted to purchase her at one time. I lucked up and got a Bionca Jordan nude and yes she is demanding too. She needs her own wardrobe as well. I love to look at the line but I just can't disburse the funds to purchase more of them. I love their fashions but I need food too, lol.

    1. Hi Brini! I know what you mean. I don't have many of these types of dolls because of the price, and the price of the accessories. If they keep improving these dolls in ways that I like (better articulation and more realism), I can see myself shifting my focus from action figures to these dolls. But, while IT is improving in these areas, some companies that produce action figures are focusing on improving the aesthetics of their figures. I just want beautiful Black realistic dolls with articulation, and I will spend my money with the companies that give me that.

But yeah, I do need food, so I need for these companies to be reasonable. :)

    1. Hi The grandmommy! From what I've heard, some of the modular ladies have already been released. I'm watching for reviews from members of the W club. Sounds really interesting so far.

    1. Hi Billa! I'm going to have to check out the FR2 dolls. I need to join the W club so that I can be in on the latest news and connect with others who love these dolls!

  8. Congratulations on the lovely new doll at your house, Roxanne! Alas for those demands although I, too, look forward to a freed Remi. (He's cute, lol)

I don't have any of the new Janay dolls so I am not sure how her feet compare to the older IT Janay "marker" feet. I'll try to think who can swap shoes with the Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force dolls. Offhand, I think some Barbie Cali Girl (bigfoot) boots fit the JP gals. There were some suggestions in the comments on this PhillyCollector post.

Thanks for sharing. Good luck outfitting the new Miss ;-)

    1. Thank you D7ana! You said that there were suggestions on "this PhillyCollector post", but there is no link. :( I'll go in search of shoe suggestions on your blog. I think that the "random" boots that Janay is wearing above may be for Big Foot Barbie, because they are larger than normal Barbie shoes. They don't quite fit Janay, but she can stand in them.

Janay will have to be patient with me regarding her demands. :)

  9. LOL, this doll sure is opinionated! But most times a diva wants what a diva wants. I really like how the Sparkle clothing fits her body. Congrats on her!

    1. Thanks Muff! Yes, she definitely knows what she wants. :) She doesn't mind wearing some of the Sparkle Girlz clothing for picnics and whatnot, but she wants nicer clothing for her day-to-day wear.

  10. Janay is STUNNING! I feel guilty paying $40 for a Barbie I cannot fathom paying more for the integrity dolls, but I do love them so. I'll have to love them from a distance and share in your excitement :-)

    1. Thank you Valsays! The price of these dolls is part of the reason that I do not have more of them. I can splurge every now and then, though. For most of them, I'll also have to admire them from a distance. :)
