Getting Caught Up

Here are some dolls that I purchased last year that I photographed, but did not blog about. Most of these have remained in their boxes. I took a break from buying dolls for a few months, but I'm starting to add a few dolls to my collection again now.

GFive Vanessa was on my wish list for years. I finally got her at a price that I was willing to pay.

These Bad Boys II action figures had also been on my wish list for a number of years. I had almost given up on getting this set.

I got this Tangerine Twist Barbie because I already had the Uptown Chic Barbie and thought it would be nice to own the entire Fashion Savvy collection. I thought that there were only 2, but found out there's another one. Maybe I'll add that one also one of these years.

I'm pretty sure that I've already opened this Ken outfit and given to one of the guys around here. I just don't remember which one.

Whenever I travel, I always try to get a doll from the place that I'm visiting. Last year we vacationed in Branson, Missouri, and I purchased this Barbie doll while there.

Here's a doll that I was really looking forward to last year, The Barbie Look articulated curvy doll. I will remove her from her box one of these days (probably).

I wanted this Ice Skater Barbie for her face. Her head is occupying a different body these days (I hope to post about that soon).

I liked the look of this athletic Made To Move Barbie soccer player.

I think this Tropi-Cutie Barbie was an impulse buy. I probably saw her on someone's blog and they probably put her on an articulated body and repainted her lips, and I thought that I would do the same. Maybe I will, one of these years. For now, she has remained in her package.

I purchased this Travel Friends Kenya doll strictly for her articulated body. I specifically had in mind re-bodying Pawla Wolf (see below) on this body. But when I saw Pawla's younger siblings, I decided to keep her on her original body.

Well, well, well! The Werewolf has been very busy! Meet Pawla, younger sister of Clawdeen, Clawdia, Clawd, and Howleen. I was not pleased with Pawla's little wolf body. Apparently in the Wolf family, the younger you are, the more you look like an actual wolf. I was on the fence about purchasing Pawla, but her older siblings urged me to add her to the collection. So here she is.

Soon after finding out about Pawla, I found out about little Barker and Weredith. How could I add Pawla and not add the two youngest members of the Wolf family? I couldn't, I tell you. I was confused when this item arrived. I kept thinking that the little wolf thing was some sort of toy for Barker, but no. That's little Weredith. That's the youngest member of the Wolf family. Oh my. I didn't need another Clawdeen, but one of these days I'll probably practice head shrinking on this one.

Maybe I was just in the mood to purchase Wolf dolls. I decided to also pick up this Clawdeen and Clawd set. This Clawd appears to be a little taller and more buff than the original Clawd. I will no doubt attempt some type of body swap on him at some point.

I thought that the little Monster High children could use a Monster High doll of their very own, so I purchased this mini. I didn't know which doll would be inside, but had hoped that it would be a mini Clawdeen.

Nope, not Clawdeen.

I don't know who this is, but I'm sure that the Wolf children will enjoy playing with her.

I figured that since I was in the market to buy dolls for dolls, I'd go ahead and pick up this American Girl mini (or would this be a micro) for my AG minis.

I still have some catching up to do. I have a few projects that I photographed, but did not blog about. Things have been hectic for me lately, but I'm going to try to find some time for dolls and blogging here and there.

  1. “I’ll get around to it one of these years.” LOL, that has been said by me many times. I thought I saw somewhere that Mattel was ending the Monster Line so I was surprised to see your new purchases.

    1. Muff that has almost become my mantra. So many doll stories, so little time... I hadn't heard that the Monster line is coming to an end.

  2. I put Tropi-Cute on Zig Zag's body and Zig Zag on an older articulated body that I found on e-Bay. I'm looking forward to the new made to move doll with the darker skin tone arriving. I might buy more after I see her in real life and rebody both Tropi-Cute and Zig Zag. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with everyone! (One of these years!)

    1. Thanks Wendy! I'm also looking forward to the darker Made To Move doll. And I want to see some curvy Made To Move dolls!

  3. Your Monster High Mini is Catrine De Mew in some incarnation. I love how those Minis look like little ragdolls, perfect for the MH crew to snuggle.

Ah, Tangerine Twist! How I loved her when she was available...and how I still love her. Congrats on finding that one; she's gorgeous!

    1. Thank you RagingMoon for letting me know the identify of the MH mini! I do like the Tangerine Twist doll. I'll have to find a good place to display her along with the Uptown Chic doll. I had originally intended to debox Uptown Chic because she was a doll with articulation, but I have so many dolls with articulation now that I don't feel a need to release her from the box now.

  4. Some really nice purchases you have here! I don't have any Monster High dolls, but this wolf family is very cute. The Travel Friends Kenya is also quite cute, I just wish their heads weren't so big! She might make a good body donor for a Chelsea size doll or an older Stacie size doll too. I did put an Lori size doll on a Travel Friends body in the past since I had 2 of the Lori dolls and decided to make one of them an older sibling.

    1. Thank you, Phyllis! Yes, the Travel Friends Kenya head is quite large. One of these days I'll probably put a different head on that body. Hmmmm, I'm already getting an idea..

  5. Congratulations on your new dolls! I think I still have Get Set Vanessa - she's a striking doll, I think. Gorgeous hair. The Ice Skater Barbie has a lovely face screening. She reminds me of the So in Style Chandra dolls.

Good to see you blogging again ;-)

    1. Thanks D7ana! The G5 Vanessa has been on my wish list for years, so I'm glad to have her. But now that I have her, I almost feel that it would be a shame to remove her from her box since she was so hard to come by. I'll leave her in the box for now, but who knows what the future holds.

  6. Awesome collection of dolls! I had never heard of the G5 Vanessa doll. Congrats on getting her. She sounds like she is a grail. I have a small collection of MH dolls. I did not know that there were additional Wolf family members. When did this happen? Lol! I love the set with Clawdeen and Clawd. I have been hoping to find it a little cheaper than what TRU has it for. Great seeing a post from you. I need to follow suit and make one. Lol!

    1. Thanks Georgia Girl! I wouldn't call the G5 doll a grail, but then again I wouldn't call any doll a grail for me. There are some that I would love to have, but that are rare and/or only show up at prices that I'm not willing to pay. I tend to give up on those. This one, I figured that I'd get one of these days. It just took time and patience.

These new Wolf dolls showed up mid-year last year. I didn't hear a lot about them and nearly missed them altogether.

I'll be looking forward to a post from you. ;)

  7. Just catching up on my blog reading. Your dolls are really cute, particularly the wolf family. Like Muff, I had heard that the Monster High line was coming to an end and they certainly are getting less and less on the shelves here in Australia.

    1. Thanks Carrickters! I still see the Monster High dolls on the shelves frequently here. The Wolf family and the little mini are the only dolls from that line that I've purchased. It seems like Monster High has a very strong following, so maybe Mattel will decide to keep making them for a while. I'm actually pretty indifferent. I don't need any more monster dolls.
