Ford Fiesta

I've kind of been wanting to purchase a car for my dolls, but I am way too cheap.  But at Family Dollar, there was a vehicle that I could not pass up.  I purchased a Ford Fiesta, and it was during the half price sale last month, so I only paid $2.50.

The box says that it "fits 11.5" fashion doll", but it is small and not at all 1/6 scale.  I wanted to have Kenya try it out, but I had difficulty fitting her into the vehicle.  I needed a doll with more flexibility.  Here, my BBi Perfect Body AA figure poses with the car and takes it for a spin.

Yes! She actually does fit inside the car.

Here, Tariq joins in the fun.  As you can see, it is a tight fit.  Tariq is too big to fit comfortably in this vehicle, and he is one of my smaller male dolls.

Tariq paid a high price for his involvement in this photo shoot.  While I was trying to jam him into this vehicle, one of his legs broke off at the knee.  That's the bad news.  The good news is that it was much easier to fit him inside the car with his one leg.

  1. Hello from Spain: I see that the car is too small for this guy. I'm breaking his leg. Anyway, the car is very cheap and I like it. Keep in touch

    1. Hi Marta! Yes, the car is much too small for this guy. I will not risk the limbs of my other male dolls by trying to fit them in this vehicle. Well, maybe the teens.

    1. Hi Mustiwait, I would've been extremely upset if this had been one of my other male figures. I did have a moment of panic when I first heard the snap. But my panic was eased when 1) I saw that the knee broke in such a way that I could glue it back together again 2) this body was a gift 3) the leg had been broken before, I just never noticed. When I was inspecting the knee, I noticed that there was already some glue around the area where it snapped. Yes, Tariq is rebodied on a Blue Box body. You can read more about his modifications here: http://roxannesdolls.blogspot.com/2012/04/becoming-rather-handy.html

  3. Maybe it could be a "smart car". I feel bad for Tariq though. What a price to pay.

    1. Thank you, Miss_Lola_77. I've made it a priority to repair Tariq, and I feel confident that he will be back on his feet very soon. :)

  4. I have three of these little cars. I painted one green and one blue. The next one will be black. I love sporty, fuel efficient vehicles like this and was glad to see one in 1:6 scale for a change instead of the usual gas-guzzling sports cars. Of course, my 6'4" brother feels about like Tariq did when he has to squeeze into my Hyundai Accent. :-)

    1. Thank you, limbe dolls! Did you paint the car inside and out? Did you have to take it apart to paint it? Perhaps I will paint mine one day. Having one of these is enough for now. I may still buy a bigger car - one that my guys can fit into without risking life and limb.

  5. Nice post! I was thinking about getting one and was curious about the size. Now I see, I may have to go ahead and get one. Great price by the way. They are still $5.00 in my Family Dollars...buy 1 get 1 half off.

    1. Thanks Georgia Girl! This car is not a bad buy even at $5. I saw that someone is selling these on eBay for triple that.

  6. I have never seen a doll size car of any brand that cheap here in Australia (or even as low as $5). Poor Tariq though, he had to pay a high price.

    1. Thanks, Carrickters! I was thrilled to find a car this cheap. I'll have Tariq fixed right up pretty soon.

  7. The car is really cute, Roxanne. It's too bad the manufacturer's "Fits 11.5 inch fashion doll" description was less than accurate. I do think your Perfect Body female looks good in it.

Poor Tariq, it just didn't work for him at all and caused a devastating injury. I hope you can mend him without too much trouble.

    1. Thank you, Debbie! I'll have to try some of my smaller dolls in the car and see how that works out. Tariq is patiently waiting for me to perform surgery, but I think that I can fix him.
