Getting Caught Up

Here are some dolls that I purchased last year that I photographed, but did not blog about. Most of these have remained in their boxes. I took a break from buying dolls for a few months, but I'm starting to add a few dolls to my collection again now.

GFive Vanessa was on my wish list for years. I finally got her at a price that I was willing to pay.

These Bad Boys II action figures had also been on my wish list for a number of years. I had almost given up on getting this set.

I got this Tangerine Twist Barbie because I already had the Uptown Chic Barbie and thought it would be nice to own the entire Fashion Savvy collection. I thought that there were only 2, but found out there's another one. Maybe I'll add that one also one of these years.

I'm pretty sure that I've already opened this Ken outfit and given to one of the guys around here. I just don't remember which one.

Whenever I travel, I always try to get a doll from the place that I'm visiting. Last year we vacationed in Branson, Missouri, and I purchased this Barbie doll while there.

Here's a doll that I was really looking forward to last year, The Barbie Look articulated curvy doll. I will remove her from her box one of these days (probably).

I wanted this Ice Skater Barbie for her face. Her head is occupying a different body these days (I hope to post about that soon).

I liked the look of this athletic Made To Move Barbie soccer player.

I think this Tropi-Cutie Barbie was an impulse buy. I probably saw her on someone's blog and they probably put her on an articulated body and repainted her lips, and I thought that I would do the same. Maybe I will, one of these years. For now, she has remained in her package.

I purchased this Travel Friends Kenya doll strictly for her articulated body. I specifically had in mind re-bodying Pawla Wolf (see below) on this body. But when I saw Pawla's younger siblings, I decided to keep her on her original body.

Well, well, well! The Werewolf has been very busy! Meet Pawla, younger sister of Clawdeen, Clawdia, Clawd, and Howleen. I was not pleased with Pawla's little wolf body. Apparently in the Wolf family, the younger you are, the more you look like an actual wolf. I was on the fence about purchasing Pawla, but her older siblings urged me to add her to the collection. So here she is.

Soon after finding out about Pawla, I found out about little Barker and Weredith. How could I add Pawla and not add the two youngest members of the Wolf family? I couldn't, I tell you. I was confused when this item arrived. I kept thinking that the little wolf thing was some sort of toy for Barker, but no. That's little Weredith. That's the youngest member of the Wolf family. Oh my. I didn't need another Clawdeen, but one of these days I'll probably practice head shrinking on this one.

Maybe I was just in the mood to purchase Wolf dolls. I decided to also pick up this Clawdeen and Clawd set. This Clawd appears to be a little taller and more buff than the original Clawd. I will no doubt attempt some type of body swap on him at some point.

I thought that the little Monster High children could use a Monster High doll of their very own, so I purchased this mini. I didn't know which doll would be inside, but had hoped that it would be a mini Clawdeen.

Nope, not Clawdeen.

I don't know who this is, but I'm sure that the Wolf children will enjoy playing with her.

I figured that since I was in the market to buy dolls for dolls, I'd go ahead and pick up this American Girl mini (or would this be a micro) for my AG minis.

I still have some catching up to do. I have a few projects that I photographed, but did not blog about. Things have been hectic for me lately, but I'm going to try to find some time for dolls and blogging here and there.

Dolls For My Birthday

Today is my birthday! I've been blessed with another year of life, and I am extremely grateful to be here!

While I'm here, I'm going to celebrate!

I'm going to enjoy all of the gifts that this life has to offer!

And I'm going to treat myself to stuff that I want!

Well, I want a lot of things, but I'll stay on topic here and limit this post to dolls. I've ordered several, hoping that some would arrive on my special day, and they did, so I've had a good time opening my gifts from me to me. Here are my recent arrivals.

A couple of new guys arrived nude - a Ken and an action figure guy. I'll probably attempt my first Ken head swap soon.

American Teen Anthoney has arrived. I already have two American Teen dolls (Benjamin and Dominique), but I wanted Anthoney for his locs.

American Teen Tara has also arrived.

I never noticed until recently (or at least I didn't remember) that Tara has a darker skin tone than Dominique. I didn't purchase Anthoney and Tara years ago when I purchased the others because they are so similar, but now I've decided that there is enough of a difference to warrant adding them to my collection.
Here, Benjamin and a redressed Dominique pose with the new arrivals. Anthoney and Tara will stay in their boxes for now.

Hasbro and Disney Moanas have arrived. The gift bag is from my husband (it contains non doll related gifts). He didn't know I was getting Moana dolls, and I didn't know about this Moana gift bag, so this was quite a coincidence.

American Girl mini Gabriela has arrived.

Gone With The Wind Prissy has arrived. She will be receiving a new body (one of these days).

Some fashions also arrived. Thank you Black Doll Enthusiast for letting me know that Teen Trends fashions would probably fit Dasia and friends.

Monica loves the outfit, necklace, purse, and drink. Moana loves the shoes. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to ever find any shoes for Moana, so I was relieved to see these cute big shoes in this fashion pack. Moana is wearing a Curvy Barbie fashion below. I don't think that any of my dolls can wear the earrings,

I saw these cute dresses that come with necklaces and purses (all handmade) while searching for Teen Trends fashions on eBay. The seller was having a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale, so that's what I did. Winx Club Layla (in the middle) only had one dress, so I decided that she needed a new one.

You'll be seeing all of the new doll arrivals again soon...

American Girl Addy Mini

Hello everyone! I'm still here, and I'm still collecting! I've slowed down somewhat on purchasing new dolls, and I'm way behind on my blogging. Part of that is due to a new opportunity that I have at my job that I'm very excited about. I'm much busier, have a lot to learn, a lot of training to go through, and I'll be working more overtime. I'm super excited about it! In the meantime, I have a few draft blog posts that I need to complete and share, and this is one of them. Last year, I got my first American Girl doll - a mini Addy.

This is the mini American Girl Beforever Addy Walker doll. The doll comes with a book. Here she is out of the box.

She is adorable. Here is a close-up. Her hair is braided and crisscrosses in the back, and she has blue ribbons in her hair that match her dress. She wears gold hoop earrings.

Here she is from the back, where you can see the back of her hair in more detail. Her dress is gorgeous, and she wears white knickers beneath her dress. She wears a pair of white socks and black boots.

Addy's book is large for her, but large enough for a child to read.

Here is the front and back of Addy's book.

Addy's new friend Buckwheat offers to carry her book for her.

Here are some of Addy's similarly sized friends: Barbie S.I.S. Kianna, Our Gang Buckwheat, Addy, Shawn, and Janet.

And just the females this time: Paula, Kianna, Addy, Janet, and Keyshia.

Addy is a cutie and fits in well with my 1/6 scale child dolls. Her head is a little larger, but it's not huge. I'm happy to have added her to my collection.

More Stuff...

Here is more stuff that arrived between May - July that I'm just now photographing:

Justin Bieber gear - for one of my teen guys.

Build A Bear Fashions - after visiting Roville's Blog, I went to BABW seeking fashions that would fit my curvaceous Dasia doll.  I asked the workers if they had fashions from the Friends2B line, and they told me no and that the line had been discontinued.  I bought some fashions anyway, hoping they would fit Dasia.  No such luck.  They are way too big.  Oh well, I'm sure I have some bears somewhere that can fit these.  The good news is that they told me that I could take as many of these ribbons as I wanted for free, so I grabbed a big handful.

Clawd Wolf - what more can I say.  He even has a fashion and some jewelry for a lucky someone.

Fashion Doll Head - a very nice friend sent this to me.  I will practice repainting and re-rooting on her.

Ken Doll Fashion - my action figure guys are looking at me nervously, wondering if they will be the recipient of this fashion.  I think that they can relax, as I'm sure I have an old Ken doll that would love to wear this.

JLS Celebz Mini Marvin - I blame... I mean I credit D7ana for this purchase.  I was never able to find any of the JLS dolls for a price that I was willing to pay, but this little guy was cheap.

Back to Brooklyn Remi - I came close to missing out on him AGAIN this year.  Back in Spring, I went down the list of Integrity Toys dealers until I finally found one who was still taking pre-orders.  I was nervous because I knew that there was no way that I would be able to buy him on the secondary market.  I waited and waited and my Remi finally arrived!

Tomorrow I will start writing about my recent arrivals.  And the deboxing has begun!
