Tall Girl Doll Comparisons

This comparison features dolls representing girls in their late teens.  They are from left to right:  Wild Sexy Tune Momoko, Liv Alexis body with HSM Taylor head, Clawdia Wolf, Basketball Nakia, Prettie Girls Lena, and Lollipop Girls Bebe.
Momoko, Taylor, and Nakia can stand without assistance.  The others can stand in certain shoes.

Here they are showing their elbow flexibility.  They all have articulation at the elbow.  Bebe has the most flexibility here.

Here they are sitting on the floor trying to cross their arms.  Bebe comes the closest to being able to cross her arms.  Momoko, Taylor, and Nakia all have articulation at the ankle and can wear flat or heeled shoes.  Clawdia, Lena, and Bebe have heeled feet and it is harder to find shoes for them.

Here they are doing a side stretch.  Momoko has upper torso articulation that allows her to rotate, but not to bend from side to side.  Taylor has lower torso articulation and can rotate and bend.  Nakia has articulation at the upper and lower torso that allows her to rotate and bend, and she does this pose the best.  Lena has articulation at the upper torso that allows her to bend and rotate very slightly.  Bebe has a twist and turn waist.

Here they are in the "walk like an Egyptian" pose.  Momoko has articulation at the wrists that allows her to move her hands back and forth, but not to rotate.  Taylor, Clawdia, and Nakia have wrists that are fully articulated.  Who do you like the best in this pose?  I think that Taylor executes this pose the best, but Momoko just looks adorable.

Here they are doing kneeling backbends.  All of them have jointed knees with the exception of Bebe, who has clicky knees and can not kneel.  Taylor and Nakia have double-joined knees and do kneeling poses quite well.  Taylor and Nakia's torso articulation also allows them to arch their backs.  Nakia does this pose the best.

Here they are showing off their hands.  Nakia's right hand can grip objects, and her left hand has a magnet that allows her to hold her basketball and other magnetized objects.  Bebe's right hand has a small hole that allows her to hold her lollipop, and other objects small enough to fit in the hole.  Clawdia has claws.  I don't have a favorite here as far as hands.  I like the looks of Lena's and the functionality of Nakia's.

Here they are attempting to sit cross-legged on the floor.  None of them can do it, but Clawdia comes the closest.

Here they are doing middle splits.  Taylor does this the best.

Here they are doing front splits.   Momoko, Clawdia, Lena, and Bebe all do this very well.

Here they are doing a leg lift.  It looks like Lena can lift her leg the highest.

Here they are sitting down.  Lena can not close her legs in a seated position.

Do you have a favorite among these dolls?  What makes that particular doll stand out for you?  Which ones pose the best?  Which ones look the best?  Which dolls are the most realistic?

  2. Nice post. I like how Lena looks in "walk like an Egyptian" because it looks like she is sprinting. Clawdia is my favorite fir this pose though. The doll that stood out the most for most of the poses was Taylor. Taylor poses and Nakia were more realistic in my opinion.

    1. Thank you Georgia Girl! I thought that Lena kind of looked like she was running to Bebe's lollipop.

  3. I enjoy these comparison articles. Fun to see how the posing abilities vary among the different lines. My favorites in the "walk like an Egyptian" pose are Nakia and Lena. I like how Nakia looks as if she's rocking some head action - bobbing across the page - and Lena looks like she's shimmying her shoulders and shaking her bottom. Shimmy shimmy coco pop.

For the kneeling backbends, Momoko got it going back. Limbo girl! Lena is like "I know she crazy, asking me to do this backwards pose." Clawdia is working some drama into her pose. Glamour girl ;-) Bebe reminds me of me in gym class - "please let someone pull the fire alarm."

Then for the hand showing, Bebe rests on her forearms. Man is she worn out from that last photo. Clawdia is beaming at everyone; someone is having fun.

For the cross-legged sit, Momoko and Taylor look tired. Pooped. Clawdia and Nakia seem to be giving it their best.

Hard to find a favorite in this group - so many of them are cute - Momoko, Taylor, Nakia, and Lena were my favorites in this set ;-)

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank you, D7ana! Momoko did do quite an impressive back bend, especially considering she has no articulation that allows her to arch her back. It's all in the legs! I like each of these dolls, and it's hard to pick a favorite. I like Taylor's flexibility. But I think that Momoko is adorable. But I like Bebe's attitude. But I like Lena's beauty. But I like Clawdia's quirkiness and how she looks like she's having fun in all of the photos.

  4. Even though she wasn't the best at all the poses, Bebe stands out the most to me. From her hair to her expression, she just gives off a lot of character.

  5. These are all very flexible and once again, I don't think I have a favourite. They certainly looked like they enjoyed these challenges.

    1. Hi Carrickters! Even if they did not enjoy these challenges, I enjoyed posing them. I found that Taylor was easiest to pose, but I like so much about the other dolls, and they each bring something different to the photos.

  6. Basketball Nakia is new to me. She's quite an interesting character. I like seeing Taylor on the LIV body. Lena is such a beautiful doll. It's too bad they messed up her arm articulation. I need to figure out how to alter or replace arms because bad arm articulation makes the dolls hard to work with in stories. I'm having the same issue with my Emerald Mixis doll.

    1. Hi Vanessa! I agree that Lena is beautiful, but her arms are a bit of a distraction to me, also. If you ever figure out how to replace arms, I'd like to see a tutorial. :)

    1. Thank you so much Debbie! I feel honored to be among the blogs that you've chosen. I will respond to your nomination.

I can't say for certain when I will be back with the same intensity. I am making progress, though. I picked up a hand full of dolls earlier this week and redressed them, and I hadn't touched them in a few weeks. So I'm slowly but surely getting back to playtime. :)

    1. Thank you for your comment Robotica! I agree with you about the LIV Alexis body. She can even hold her own against my action figure ladies when it comes to posing.
