Calista's Diary Entry - Growth Spurt

Dear Diary,

My clothes are tight, my shoes are too small, and people always comment about how much I've grown.  They say that I've hit a growth spurt.  I look different on the outside, but I feel the same on the inside.

I'm about the same height as Skipper now. She hasn't changed much.

Some of Skipper's friends have changed a lot though.  The twins Hadley and Isla, and her friend Taylor have all gotten so tall!

Kana and Briana Joy haven't changed much.  Kana's hair isn't purple anymore - that's the biggest change with her.

I'm a little bit taller than Bob now.  I wonder if he's noticed?  I wonder if it matters to him?  It doesn't really matter to me.  Maybe he'll hit a growth spurt of his own pretty soon.

Maybe I'm just imagining things, but I could've sworn that Kiara used to be taller.  Maybe she just seems short to me now because I'm taller?  I don't know.  She's been hanging out with the new girl Jenna a lot.  I don't know Jenna well, but she seems okay.  I heard someone say that she is cute until she opens her mouth.  I don't know what they mean by that.

Mikey has not changed a bit.  He is just as obnoxious as ever!  His nickname for me now is Medusa.  I guess he's trying to be funny about the twists that I wear in my hair.  Layla has always worn twists, so why doesn't he call her Medusa?  He was calling me Bigfoot Knight for a while.  I don't know which name I hate worse.  I keep ignoring him and hoping that he'll eventually just leave me alone.

I guess that a lot of things are changing, but a lot of things have remained the same.  I'm just glad to have my family and my friends.  I feel that with their support, I can face any changes that come my way.

    1. Thank you, Georgia Girl! Yes, Calista seems to have grown up quite a bit. She still has a lot of growing up to do, though.

  2. Calista is so sweet. Growing spurts and pains can be difficult at Calista's age, especially when knot-headed boys give you nicknames like "Twiggy" and "Snake," oh but we're talking about Calista.

Who shared their body with her and when did Calista braids?

    1. Thanks Debbie! Ah yes, the knot-headed boys who give out such clever nicknames as "Fatso" and "Big Bertha Butt". ::sigh:: I do not miss being Calista's age one bit.

Calista got her body from a Super Model Bel doll. I twisted Calista's hair a few months ago.

    2. Now I remember the body swap Calista received. Thanks for refreshing my memory. I like her new body and hair.

I think secretly most of those stupid boys who issued out the terrible names really liked the person they taunted. They were just too immature to act intelligently to share their true feelings with the girls and probably felt or knew the girl wouldn't give them the time of day. Using silly names was their way of overcompensating for the let down they feared.

    3. My mother used to call them pissy-tailed boys. As in, "Don't you pay them pissy-tailed boys no mind." But usually it was, "And don't be havin' no pissy-tailed boys at my house neither!"

Either way, boys were/are the worst and feel like they have to point things out. Like, yes, I know my breasts got huge over the summer. You don't have to point it out to me.

Thanks for allowing us to read her journal entry!

    4. Debbie, I agree with you and I think that's probably the case with Mikey.

Muff, I never heard that expression before, but that was good advice from your mom. And yeah, boys thought/think that they are so funny when pointing out the obvious and making silly jokes. Thanks for your comments!

  4. Fun to read Calista's news and to see the changes to her and to her friends.

I agree with Debbie's comments about Mikey and real-life name calling boys. Lots of times they had crushes on the girls they tormented. Shudder and eek. Too repulsive to be considered though.

    1. Thanks D7ana! Calista is frowning and shaking her head furiously at the mere thought. :)

  5. Awww, I love this post. Very creative. Poor Calista. Boys can be such jerks! Even when they get older.

    1. Thank you, Vanessa! I agree, sometimes boys who are jerks grow into "men" who are jerks.

  6. I think that is even bigger jerks! I love this post. I have been thinking about my doll and I like the fact that they don't seem to get older but I like how you did this!

    1. Thank you, Ms. Leo! I didn't want Calista to get too much older but I definitely had to get her an articulated body without huge feet.
