Babysitters Inc Skipper Rebody

I purchased a Skipper Babysitters Inc doll a few months ago. I wasn't in any hurry to remove her from her packaging.

That changed when I saw this Blythe Black Skin Tone body. I purchased this doll hoping that I would have dolls in my collection that would match. Skipper is a close enough match. I wasted no time removing Skipper from her packaging and rebodying her.

Some time ago, I did a review of the Blythe body. This is the same body, but Skipper's is a darker skin tone.

Her is a closer look at Skipper. She has a cute youthful face, and I like her curly hair.

The Blythe body is shorter than the original Skipper body. But Skipper is thrilled with her newfound mobility.

Skipper's original outfit fits well. However, the Blythe body's feet are slightly larger.

Skipper's boots will just barely go onto the Blythe body's feet.

From the back, you can see that Skipper's boots do not close completely. I'm not too concerned about that. Skipper can stand on her own in these boots.

Skipper needed this added articulation in order to perform her babysitting duties to the best of her abilities. There are a lot of babies and toddlers here, so she will be busy. Below, she is pictured with her friend Barbie Crazy for Coral Petite Fashionistas doll, which has also been rebodied on a Blythe body. Skipper just will not put down her phone, just like some other teens that I know.

Here are the Blythe Bodied dolls compared to some of the other teen and tween dolls in my collection.

Skipper looks good in a seated position.

Here, my new Skipper is pictured with my original Skipper (Homecoming Queen). My original Skipper is demanding that I change the name of this new Skipper. Hmmmmm, I'll have to ponder that one.

Skipper's box had a few other items besides the doll and her phone. There were cardboard cutouts of a To Do List, a delicious looking drink, and a toy xylophone. There was also a plastic sippy cup.

This Skipper is cute, and I like her even more with her articulated body. Ideally, I would have liked for her to be the same height as the original Skipper. Perhaps Mattel will release some articulated Skippers in the future (wishful thinking on my part, but I am hopeful). I like Skipper's outfit and her boots, and I like her phone and the sippy cup. I don't care about the cardboard cutouts. Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase.

  1. I really wish they would release some articulated Skippers...and Stacies...and Chelsies...everyone should be able to move! I love and cherish the few I have, but they're so rare. I want to have a whole bunch of kids who can sit in chairs and ride horses and climb trees and crawl on things and all that good stuff ;)

Your Skipper looks super cute with the new body! I've really got to look into Blythe bodies.

    1. Thanks Erin O! Wouldn't it be lovely if they made a Made to Move type body in Skipper's size? And while I'm wishing, how about an AA boyfriend for Skipper? I also have a handful of articulated child dolls. For the others, whenever I see an appropriate articulated body like this Blythe body, I snatch it up for the purpose of rebodying one of my dolls.

  2. Skipper looks so cute on her new body. Thank you for letting me know these bodies exist in this complexion. I rebodied two Blythe's using tan bodies. I will have to get at least one of these. Where did you find it?

Thank you for letting me know about the Skipper cutouts. Since my doll is still in the box and I haven't read the contents of the box,I didn't know they were included.

  3. Excellent body matching. I wish I had an eye like that. I have loads of heads and bodies. I agree with you on the men. We have to go to other tribes to import articulated men. LOL

    1. Thanks The grandmommy! Mixing and matching can be fun, until it doesn't work out right. LOL

  7. I really like that they have made a body with the colour of the AA babysitter. However, these bodies must be clones of the Azone Pure Neemo bodies, as those come only in "white" and "natural," (= almost white), and have articulated necks. I also have a couple of these clone bodies, bought on Aliexpress. I got two bodies with two different shades of brown. But the darkest brown is just brown enough to fit a black haired Skooter head, which I guess is supposed to be tan. These bodies have the size that Azone calls "S." Azone has 5 sizes for their bodies, and at least three sizes for what is "under their chins." If you get the Asian or red head babysitter, I would recommend a real Azone body. The "L" size is Skipper height. Or you could get an Obitsu body sized 24 cm (slightly smaller than Skipper, but why should her friends be exactly her height?). "White" is good for the Asian, and "Natural" is good for the other. And the best thing about Obitsu 24 (other than better articulation than Pure Neemo), is that it looks fuller than other small Obitsu bodies, like 21, 23, soft 23, and 25.

By the way, I have tried the tan clone body, which is lighter than the one that fits the Skooter head, and the skin tone matches the Skipper dolls from before the babysitters. Only thing is that the head looks a bit big. Do the babysitters have smaller heads than the 2010 Skipper?

    1. I meant to write that there are four body sizes for Pure Neemo (L + M + S + XS m), not five.

And I am guessing that the body that fits Crazy for Coral is the same that fits my Skooter.

    2. Thanks so much for your informative posts, Amaruq! Send in the clones, especially if that's the only way that I can get these articulated bodies in different skin tones. Both of my bodies are indeed the "S" size. I'll be on the lookout for any "L" sized bodies in darker skin tones. Both of my dolls' heads look oversized on these smaller bodies, so a taller body would be better for them. I don't know if the babysitters have smaller heads than the 2010 Skipper. I only have the Homecoming Queen (pumpkinhead) Skipper pictured above from the 80's, and the head looks to be about the same size as the Babysitters Inc Skipper.

I only have 1 Obitsu body, and that's a 21 cm male body that I use for my Harry Potter. I love the articulation of that body. If I ever see Obitsu type bodies in darker skin tones, I'm buying some for sure.

  9. Thanks for sharing this post! Call me a copycat if you want (LOL), but right after reading this I went on a search for this dark skin toned body. I do own the Tan and Black skin tones (clone bodies) that I have used for many a replacement body for my smaller dolls, but hadn't seen this beautiful dark body. I did find it on Aliexpress and the seller has a 10% discount for the next 5 days, so I snapped a couple up! I have ordered from AliExpress on numerous occasions and have been happy with them. Woo hoo, can't wait to get them! I do also own several of the Natural and a few of the white Azone bodies in the various sizes (XS, S, M, L) as well as the boy bodies in XS, S and M). Like you, my dolls require articulation! Thanks for sharing!

    1. What kind of boy heads do you have that fit the S and M boy bodies? I managed to find a Licca head with short hair for my XS boy body.

I have two L bodies, that I now have a Licca and an Asian babysitter on. I have one M body, that I have a ca 50 year old Barbie head on (it has a large neck hole). I have an S body without a head. I have the two lighter clone bodies, size S. On one I have a Skooter head. The other has the right complexion for regular Skipper, but the head looks a bit too large... And I have a Marie (Licca friend) head on the XS body.

Then there are my Obitsu bodies:
Male 27: an Edwardian Ken head, that does not really fit, as I do not want to cut his neck peg thingy off
Male, slim: no matches so far.
27, regular: old Midge and Barbie heads from the 60s (but their complexions are wrong, only a Barbie ballerina head looks almost right).
27, soft bust: neck peg too thin.
      27, soft body: ditto.
25: too white. Oldest Skipper heads might fit a bit.
24: "original" fits the red head Babysitter and "white" the Asian.
      23, soft: ditto.
23: fits a Sakura (Licca friend). Does not fit the old Skipper heads, that I bought it for, at all.
21: fits a Daisy head. Same problem as the 23, as they are the same besides the calves.
21, boy: what heads fit? Have not tried Ricky and Harry Potter, as they have bodies, and Ricky is too tan.

(I am reluctant to take dolls off their bodies, and try to buy extra heads instead. Therefore I have about 20 heads without bodies, and several bodies without heads (as they either do not fit, or look silly because of complexion)....

    2. Oh 😁. I first forgot to include the Obitsu 24 bodies. Now the 'ditto' on soft 23 looks silly. It points to the 25 body.

A new type Stacie looks good on Obitsu 24, and Obitsu 23, soft, but for her tan skin. Her neck hole is too small for Pure Neemo.

I managed to fit 60s Skipper heads on the tan Neemo clone. And they fit Obitsu 24, but are too tan.

    3. Cool Phyllis! I can't wait until your bodies arrive and to see what you do with them. I was thinking about picking up another one. I'll have to do some comparisons and decide.

Amaruq, it's awesome that you have so many Obitsus and that you have so much knowledge of those as well as Azone /Neemo bodies. Thanks for sharing the info here!

  10. A Made to Move type body in Skipper's size would be a great addition for kids and collectors. Is there a letter to Mattel requesting this? That would help articulate lots of older dolls, too. Sigh ... we can dream ;-)

    1. There's not a letter to Mattel requesting this that I'm aware of, but I would gladly add my signature to a petition. I could see myself purchasing several of those if they ever became available. My original Skipper would love to be able to move too without losing her height. I'll keep dreaming. :)

    2. The perfume aa ken with the mustache was supposed to be AA Big Brother Kens father but I fell asleep and lost the auction Jamal looks too young and I don't want to age him so Its out the question. I do want to make her boyfriend Plaid on point he looks like a teen.
