Weekend Fun Keyshia

I was beginning to wonder if I would ever have this one in hand, but she's finally here!  Weekend Fun Keyshia (part of the Kenya Fashion Madness line of dolls) has arrived.

She did not stay in her box for long.  She comes with a black and white scarf tied around her neck, a green top, blue jeans, and black sandals.  Her hair is long and well rooted.  She's a cute doll.

I noticed a couple of minor quality issues upon removing her from her box.  Her right earring sticks out slightly.  It looks like it did not completely pierce the vinyl of her head, and instead bent and came back out.  I've tried pushing it in but it will not budge.  There is also an area on her chin that is not completely smooth.

Kenya has been awaiting the arrival of her little sister Keyshia for quite a while now.  They are finally reunited.

Keyshia has made new friends already.  The dolls pictured are from left to right:  Mattel Janet, Juku Couture Kana, Keyshia, Only Hearts Club Briana Joy, and V.I.P. A.N.T. farm Chyna.  Keyshia's head is a little bit oversized, but not alarmingly so, and she fits in well with my other dolls.  This one can keep her head (if I get another one, there will be head swapping).

Yay, she has articulation!  Keyshia has jointed elbows and knees.  Her feet are flat, and she is able to stand on her own.  She is pictured below in a swimsuit from another doll.

Here she is in a seated position.

Keyshia can wear most of the clothes from comparably sized dolls.  Below she is wearing Only Hearts Club Briana Joy's outfit.  She is able to stand without assistance in Briana Joy's shoes.

Keyshia is pictured in a Juku Couture Kana fashion below.  Her feet are the same size as Kana's feet.

She can wear some Bratz fashions.  The jeans are a little too long on her.

Most Monster High fashions are too small for her.  Below, she is pictured wearing Clawdeen Wolf's jacket and skirt (too small for her and not a good look).

Here she is in V.I.P. A.N.T. Farm Chyna's clothes.  This fashion is a little large for her.

My overall impression is that this is a good doll at a decent price.  Even with her minor quality issues, I am pleased with her and I think that she is a good addition to my collection.  I want to buy another one if I can find one at a discounted price.

  1. Congratulations on finding Keyshia and thank you for sharing such a wonderful review. I, too, have recently found her and also thought I never would.

I am happy to know she can wear Only Hearts fashions as well as the others you've shown.

It appears as though she has received a warm welcome there.

  3. That is great that you found Keyshia. I have not seen anything new in my area. In fact, the shelves are still practically bare. Great review of her! And "yay" to her being articulated!!

    1. Thanks Georgia Girl! I got her on eBay. The shelves are still pretty bare here in my area, also, and I have yet to see any TJ, Dwayne, or Keyshia dolls for sale here.

    1. You're welcome Carrickters :) and thank you for your response. I was so excited to see her articulation. I think that you will enjoy the Juku Couture dolls if you decide to purchase some. They have even more articulation than Keyshia.

  7. Congrats on getting her! It's great that she has articulation because the recent adults I have seen of this line don't have any.

    1. Thank you, Muff! I've seen the adults in this line that do not have articulation, and I am not interested in those. Some of the adults have 2 versions - one with articulation and one without. In my next post, I've reviewed one of the TJ dolls from this line that does have articulation.

  8. Congrats! I love her size. I will definitely be on a hunt for her. Wow, full articulation! That means I will be buying a few of them and swapping out some bodies on my younger girls. Thanks for the great review.

  11. So glad I saw this post. I had $25 available in eBay bucks, so I immediately went to eBay and purchased 2 Keyshia dolls. Thanks for the heads up! BTW, she fits nicely in with your young group.

  12. Congratulations on your eBay find! Thanks for sharing your information about Keyshia. Yay, that she is articulated. Pity she is so thin though. But she's still cute. And I appreciate how you show her with other playscale kiddies roughly her size and age.

    1. Thanks D7ana! She is pretty thin, but not as thin as some of the others. I like that her waist is not overly small, which is more realistic for a young girl.
