He told me that he would only give her to me, though, if I would promise to keep her in the box. I told him that I couldn't make that promise. I told him that once he gives me a gift, it's mine to do whatever I want. He told me fine, he would keep it for himself. I told him that was fine with me. So here she is, my husband's one and only Barbie doll.
LOL... this is too funny! Tell him to free that doll. She is dying to get out of that dress! LOL!

LOL Debbie! He's determined that she's staying in her box. She does get a prominent place for display, though. She is one of the few dolls on display in our master bedroom.

ReplyDeleteSure, I prefer to - eventually - debox mine, but there are a few so precious in their box setting that I don't release them to have more fun. Shrug. Not many of those though ;-D

DeleteI love the outfits on those angel dolls. I haven't bought any of the dolls, however, because the first thing I would do is strip the doll and ditch her. I just want the robes. Your husband needs to keep this lovely lady in the box to protect her from wardrobe vultures like me!

DeleteLOL, Well now I know that my husband is not the only one who likes to keep "collectibles" in boxes (I do now too!!!), but he also has an Barbie item when he was a kid - At age 7 he alredy had a collector mentality and ask his mom if he could have the item, it was a ice cream maker, he has sealed and boxed!!! Join the club :-)

DeleteLOL, thanks Vanessa. I actually asked him not to buy me any more Barbies (it wasn't with this "gift"). All of the Barbies that he has given me use the Asha face mold and have inarticulate bodies. I just have too many dolls that look alike. Now when he's out and about and he sees a doll that he thinks that I might like, he'll snap a photo with his camera phone and send it to me. ::Sigh:: It's just best if I do my own doll shopping. But I will ask for a different type of gift (I could use a memory card for the camera he gave me for my birthday).
