L to R - Otaku Tan, Monsieur Z Wild from Integrity Toys, Opal, Barbie's friend Kayla with belly-button body, and AA Perfect Body.
Here are more comparisons. L to R - Fashion Royalty Adele, Barbie with Model Muse body, Opal, Barbie with twist 'n turn waist, and Janay from Integrity Toys.
All girls are so beautiful. :) I also like to make comparison photos sometimes, but most of my adult female dolls are Mattel playline, so it's almost nothing to compare. :D
ReplyDeleteBtw could you tell me the full name of this Janay doll? I saw several photos of her, but couldn't find any other information. I tried to learn as much as possible about Janay dolls, but found out it was rather difficult.
Thank you Dukasha! These photos are truly horrible, because I was just learning about using the camera at that time and I was trying different settings, with and without the flash. I don't know Janay's full name. I know that she was made by Integrity Toys, and that's about it. Dolls of Color has information about Janay, and it looks like she was working with D7ana to create a Janay database. Dana if you're reading, how's that coming along?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the photos are not perfect, but the girls are. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw Janay Database here: http://www.abcdoll.org/dollwiki/Janay_Dolls It was very useful, but I couldn't find some dolls there...
Thank you for the link to the Janay database. I found the name of my Janay - it's Studio It Janay by Integrity Toys. Click here to see her photo.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks! I always try to find much information about the dolls I like. The problem with Janay dolls is that there are quite different dolls with the same name. I saw Studio it Janay in red dress and another Studio It Janay in blue jacket and black denim pants, but I never saw such doll as yours NRFB, so I didn't know she was Studio it Janay also.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link, Roxanne!
ReplyDeleteThere were several Studio It Janay dolls. Some SI Alyssa and SI Jade dolls, too. Other than Therese and the ABC Club's wiki, there are no "official" Janay sites. Janay used to appear on the Integrity Toys website, but she was discontinued.
I've got photos of Janay dolls here and DBG of Black Dolls has information about Integrity Toys.
But the wiki is Therese's baby ;-D. I have contributed, but not lately.
Thanks Dana! I see that you have a much better picture of my Studio It Janay. :) I also have the outfit for another Studio It Janay - the one with the white top and animal print skirt. I only have one Janay doll though, and a Tariq.
ReplyDeleteLovely dolls, they look real, speaking of realistic dolls I found this website http://www.ThatsMyFace.com/f/action_figure_head that can create a super-realistic doll heads of anyone from just a photo. Imagine making doll of yourself, your kids, your boss or your favorite celebrity!
ReplyDeleteApparently they can make the heads in many scales to fit Barbie-like dolls, Tonner dolls or even smaller figurines like Polly Pocket.
Thank you Mary!
ReplyDeleteHi folks, i'm a real fan of the 3rd head Alysa with the frizzy auburn hair! Does anyone know where I could find one all these years later?! I live in the UK and we don't have this range here!
ReplyDeleteAny help would be greatly appreciated!
Kind regards
Hello Anonymous, the only place that I know of is eBay. That's where I get most of my dolls. Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteHello, I noticed on the Opal doll in the photo her arms are articulated at the elbow. Can you bend her legs as well for a sitting position?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous, yes Opal can bend her legs, but not much. She can bend them about 2 clicks. She would have great difficulty sitting on a low surface.
ReplyDeleteIt was said that Shindana's Wanda doll looked just like Donna Summer. She looks nothing and anything but like Donna if you asked me.I'll tell you who in doll world that looks close to Donna. It's the very first Asha from Shani and friends. She looks across from Donna and Vanessa Williams from the "Eraser"movie.
